13th International Hitch-hiking Competition SOPOT-PRAGUE

It is thirteen time when the lovers of "trip for one smile" will take part in the biggest hitch-hiking race in the World. This unusual way of exploring European countries has an aim to familiarize participants with the task of touristic and historical values, of culture and and with selected nations. Moreover this event is a grate possibility for integration in travel community.

In last years the competitions was organized to Budapest, Vilnius, Berlin, Lvov, Riga, or Split. In this year the start point is planned in Three City, where is the seat of Polish Adventure Club - the main organizer of event. Big novelty of this year race is place of start - the famous Sopots' pier. The start of championship will be connect with great picnic - in program organizers planed many interesting activities like balloon flight, concerts stage, climbing side, survival park and all of that made special for this event !!! Not to mention the fact that the finish point of championship will be prepared 650 kilometers further, in capital of Czech Republic - Prague, where for participants will be waiting more attractions.

All competitors used to count only on drivers' kindness and hitch - hike with them, because using of public transportation during a race is forbidden. The title of international master of hitch - hike will get this team which on finish line in Prague will appear as first.

The event will be hold during a May long weekend (1-3 May 2010), what is more there is no commercial character. It is directed mainly to the youth. Although many times the participants of event was people who, lost such status several, and sometimes a dozen years ago. Be adult is only one limitation made by organizers.

International Hitch - Hiking Competitions is the largest this type event in the Europe, and also in the World. In this year edition organizers expect many foreigners therefore they made extra classification for them with special prizes. The participants of championships will be very easy to recognized on the road because of characteristic orange big numbers in a front of body which they get on a start point. You must be there as well!

2. TIME AND PLACE OF COMPETITION:
Competition will be held between 1st and 3rd May from Sopot to Prague (Czech Republic).

3. TARGETS OF COMPETITION:
- to break a new international hitchhiking leader,
- to popularize hitchhiking as a perfect way of unconventional recreation,
- to exchange experiences between followers of hitchhiking,
- to show participants of competition beauty of Poland, Czech Republic and other countries.

7. PRINCIPLE OF RECRUITMENT:
At the competitions can take part two person teams and they must be adult.
All competitors should have clothes and equipment for various weather conditions as: tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, good humor, patience and persistence in action.

8. STARTING POINT IN SOPOT (Poland):
Square next to famous Sopot's wooden pier
Sopot, ul. Powstańców Warszawy 2
(400 m from train station)
Start point will be situated in well-marked tent next to the stage.

9. FINISHING POINT IN PRAGUE (Czech Republic):
Information about finishing point will be given on start point of the competition at 1st May 12:00 AM.

10. PARTICIPATION PAYMENT:
Obligatory charge 10 PLN (about 2,55 EUR) per person will be taken by organizers on the first day of the competition at the start point.

11. ITINERARY OF COMPETITIONS:
1st May 2010 (Saturday)
- from 8.30 AM - greeting competitors at the starting point in Sopot;
- 8.30 - 11.30 AM - secretary's office opening hours;
- 11.00 - start of the fete. At stage will be present dancing and music crews, competitors will take part in many types of recreation games, can use a climbing wall and many others activities;
- 11.30 AM - press conference;
- 12.00 AM - start of competitions;
- from 20.00 PM - Prague secretary's office opening hours;

3rd May 2010 (Monday)
- 11.00 AM - closing ceremony of competitions at finish point in Prague;
- to 13.00 PM - check out.

12. GET CHECK IN:
Application form is available at official websites of the event: www.klubprzygody.pl and www.elektronicznezapisy.pl . Application must be filled up at April 28 the latest. Name of the team (be creative), names and surnames of competitors, address, e-mail and mobile phone number are necessary to fill up the application.

13. RESIGNATION:
In case of resignation please send an email on autostop_(at)_klubprzygody.pl with names, surnames and number of team. In case of not sending the resignation up to 28th April or cancel after this date the participants will be charged with the cost of entrance fee (10 PLN - about 2,55 EUR/person).

14. STARTING SERVICES:
- accommodation at a camping site on destination point in Prague will be provided after a surcharge (required tent, sleeping mat and sleeping bag),
- maps and participation materials,
- toilets at destination point,
- others materials connected with cash flow.

15. CLASSIFICATION:
Classification will be manager in below category:
- the fastest team of the competition,
- the fastest polish team of the competition,
- the fastest foreigners team of the competition,
- the most funy dress team,
- the best photo from event (max 3 offers in jpg format must be sent the leates at 9 of may on autostop_(at)_klubprzygody.pl adress).

16. PRIZES:
- teem which will reach the destination as first will get a souvenir cup, certificates and special prize,
- prizewinner 2nd and 3rd places will get souvenir certificates and prizes,
- prizewinner 1nd places in foreigners category will get souvenir certificates and prizes,
- prizewinner of fashion category will get prizes,
- prizewinner of photo category will get souvenir certificates,
- all competitors will get souvenir certificates.

17. FINAL RULES:
- competitions will be held regardless of weather,
- competitors must have personal insurance,
- participants claim their own responsibility,
- application after time does not guarantee full services,
- persons taking part in the competition agree to disclose personal details in mass media informing about this event,
- organizers allow to move by public transport within a radius of 10 kilometers from the cities over 100 thousand inhabitants,
- using a transport where driver is a friend or family of competitors is forbidden,
- organizers are not responsible for damage caused towards competitors and third parties,
- organizers claim responsibility for final interpretation of the starting announcement.
